The first book I read, well tried anyway, was Claiming the Courtesan. It will undoubtedly help them sharpen their critical understanding with its ample food for thought.Trying to branch out into uncharted hist-ro waters, I picked up a new author Anna Campbell. I would feel delighted if it is used by the students in the changing canonical scenario of the twenty-first century. The anthology would surely serve as a valuable source book for the writers, readers, scholars, teachers and academicians who want to be fully acquainted with the works of North-East Indian Writers in English. There are references to many other writers as well in the process of discussion.
